Recently, homeowners (and friends of ours) in Dillsburg, PA reached out so we could help them replace several original 1990s-era fixtures in their foyer and great room. With ceilings over 18 feet high, our clients knew that they were not interested in a DIY project, and we knew that we would need an extra tall ladder.

About The Home Improvement Project
The existing fixtures were original to the home, and they very much reflected the 1990s. We helped our clients refresh their space with new lighting and new fixtures that felt modern and went beautifully with their interior design.
Because of the ceiling height (over 18 feet!), replacing these fixtures wasn’t as simple as swapping out a light bulb. The project required specialized ladders and lots of safe, careful movement to replace the chandelier, the ceiling fans, and the recessed lighting.

The Craftsmen Solution
We arrived with the tools and materials needed to complete the work safely and efficiently (including an incredibly tall 16 foot ladder). Before starting, we carefully protected the floor with drop cloths to keep everything clean from debris and to also ensure no scuffing on the floor.
Working from the front entrance toward the fireplace, we replaced the foyer chandelier, two ceiling fans, and recessed lights. During the process, removing one of the recessed fixtures revealed a small ceiling imperfection that had previously been hidden. Rather than leaving it, we repaired the area and touched up the ceiling so that the finished result was perfection.
Once the new fixtures were installed, we tested each one to confirm proper operation and make sure that everything was working exactly as it should. We cleaned the space thoroughly and removed all packaging and unwanted materials.

The Carpenter’s Tool Difference
From the moment we arrive, we focus on protecting your home and approaching every detail with extreme care. That means laying floor protection before starting work, repairing small issues that might be uncovered during a project, and making sure everything is cleaned up before we leave.
Our team takes deep pride in treating every home with the same respect we would want in our own. Whether we’re replacing lighting in a high-ceiling foyer or helping with everyday repairs, our goal is always the same. We strive to leave your home in a better condition than we found it. Plus, we always ensure the entire process is as smooth and stress-free as possible with direct communication and a positive disposition.
